Daily card reading 8/9/2020: The answer is inside of you. Plus Numerology for today.

Two competing possibilities, and you get to choose, but.....

You're going to be responsible and do the thing that is "most you" in the long run.  That said, you have a sense of justice, but in that, you're also going after a sense of balance.

Not too much egg noodles, in other words, not too much smoked pork.  If you wot my meaning.

If sex/love figure in, you're apt to do it right and be a good partner today. (Even though today's number is 3 instead of 2.)

Now in today's number, we have the usual weirdness of 2020, but some balance, and the Hermit from the Rider deck Major Arcana, so there is introspection.  I can't promise your judgement is at its peak, but you will make decisions today that are surely right for you, even if they don't make sense to anyone else.

Food Hack: A smoked sausage, French toast wrap. call it French cuisine.

Such is the way of the convenience minded person.  Such is the way of the gas station.  Fold something in breading and call it a "wrap".

This is not the marketing genius of a PT Barnum at work here.  We could give it more elegance, even call it a "folded sandwich".

McDonalds took the wrap to new heights buy using other pieces of their menu to fill the wrap, such as the Quarter Pounder beef patty, or the Grilled and Breaded Chicken variants from the new healthier sandwich options.  The end result was sort of a mysterious pillowcase of breading filled with something......

But we would note that the format of the "wrap" allows for more fixings and condiments.

TODAY'S FOOD HACK is somewhere between sausage dog and wrap, being something of a rounded oblong flavor burst.

1 slice French Toast(replete with "sweetener" and cinnamon)

1 piece smoked sausage(at least "bun length")

Daily card reading 8/3/2020

Love is unconventional.  Whatever you do or whatever comes to you, either, may be a surprise to yourself and others.

You've got things under control, your work and play.  Luck is mixed in, too.

Your purchases should be just what you need, today, so debate with yourself before making purchases today, and you'll do great.

It's a great day for your inner-self, too, and it might be that your inward self is in control in all of these equitable actions you are taking today.

Mindfulness: feeling the moment.

First day of work on Aug 1, on a new job, and fresh off of Covid lockdown.  Some people would stress and moan, pulling against a yoke that the world tried to put on them.

But me?  "Gimme a chance!"  I was saying.  "You'll see; it'll be great!"

Out a bit early that morning, allowing ample travel time, travelling into the next county to a meeting.  I drove through the familiar countryside of my hometown, and into the next town, where I picked up a cold coffee beverage.

Taking pleasant sips, I drove along, with the road largely left alone, left to me, on a lonesome stretch of two-lane, towards the meeting spot.

That part of the country, in fact, was filled with lowlands on an old floodplain between a large river and the ocean.  All hardwoods and farmland, almost everywhere, then now and then a 100+ year old farmhouse, be it the main house or a tenant house.  In the intervening years after slavery, there were "sharecroppers" who were allowed to stay in a small house near a field and a paid a small sum, in exchange for the sharecropper tending the field, planting to harvest.

In August, there is a lot of corn, big stalks, fronds having grown broad, and looking green from all the early morning humidity.  In another few months, as the weather turns, we will see a lot of cotton in that area.

And I, completely in the moment, knowing the next hour would take care of itself, enjoyed the sight of the brilliant summer morning sun across the fields and just over the tops of the hardwoods.  Another minor detail that staved anxiety was that I was the first attendee to arrive, so I had time to saunter around the parking lot, still-lost in my empty musings and enjoyment of the surroundings: a brilliant, quiet morning with a kiss of humidity in the warming air.

Daily card reading: 7/31/2020 That order of equity you wanted is on its way.

Transition shows in love and fortune, and actions show fair and equitable.  It looks like you and those who deal with you will show marked fairness; in other words, fortune is going to give you what you earned.  Before you cringe at thinking of what kind of harshness you might deserve for past actions, consider the transition element in fortune and love.

This may or may not be a pleasant surprise, but "learning how to deal" is always the word of the day; so roll with whatever changes going forward, be yourself, and remember that if you do a good turn, it will come back to you in some form.

Today's Reductive Method Special Number is 6.

You think, well, that might be lucky, magic mojo at the end of a lucky month; however, life always has a challenge waiting for us.  Don't get complacent.  You've been depending on luck on all month, even in the midst of the pandemic turmoil, but that's coming to a close.

I'd suggest celebrating sometime today, and yet a social gathering might bring climactic fireworks: remember there is a 3 and 1 in the date, before the reduction method cleans all that up producing the 6.

food hack: blade steak/chicken steak

The Blade Steak or "Top Blade Steak" is a small, cheap cut of meat that is friendly on the budget, and also friendly on the calorie count.  These are more like a Chuck Steak than anything else.  In my local store, these are served cut thin, where the Chuck Eye is thick, but the regular old Chuck steak is cut thin.  This is likely determined more by management than anything else, in terms of meeting price points and consumer demand.

The line of sinew up the middle of the steak gives it a nice symmetry, and is tender.

These are called "chicken steaks" at my local market.  Why?  I've no idea, unless they've decided that these are good for making "chicken-fried-steak".

*These can be quite good as a sandwich, adding bread and condiments for more calories for an average meal.  However, the smaller size of the cut, makes this one perfect for dieters.
